70AD and Revelation 20 Q&A QA Category

Q
1. Was AD 70 the changeover from the old covenant and the intro of the new covenant era?

2. What do you consider Satan's little season will involve?

A
I think that 70 AD marked that the changeover was complete and the destruction of the temple proved it.

As for Satan's little season, I think it is much like what we have today - confusion regarding the doctrines of Christ and what is our hope in His return. I don't think there will be any tribulation of 7 years per se to face. I think the true saints will grow stronger and the fence sitters weaker and more confused because of Dispensationalism and Ecumenicalism and idolatry.

I for one am glad that Preterism has gained a voice because they do have something important to contribute, but like all of us; Full Preterism has drawn the wrong conclusions.

I do not believe that we can put a face on who the beast is in our day because he will not be a single entity. Therefore the beast provides a type for what we can expect. The same is true for the false prophet. Many antichrists and many false prophets have gone out into the world, so John & Peter tell us. But in the days in which they lived they knew in whom Satan was working. And in 2 Thes 2, I think Paul did as well.

Our enemy is spiritual and in high places and is demonic, working thru deception. That deception couldn't be more evident than it is today, yet without the central focus which Revelation has. We know our enemy is the devil, yet I don't think those in the first century had that clear a picture that we have. The OT too speaks of Satan only cryptically, whereas we have a much clearer picture thru the NT of the spiritual battle we are in.
